The resort is 3 km up the road: spend the day there, come back down for dinner, and nobody counts the driving.
Three kilometres up the road, the La Colmiane alpine coaster comes down the mountain on a rail. The chairlift takes you up, you settle into the sled, and the brake stays in your hands: 1,670 m of track, 400 m of vertical drop, 22 bends. It lasts — long enough that "can we go again?" arrives well before the bottom. There is a minimum age and a minimum height, and the youngest don't ride alone: the exact conditions, like the hours and the prices, belong to the resort and change from season to season.
Next door, Colmiane Forest strings its courses through the trees. You move from platform to platform in a harness, on routes of increasing difficulty, and there is an area set aside for the smallest ones — for doing what the big kids do, a little closer to the ground. Grown-ups clip in too, and that's the point: nobody stands at the bottom holding the bags. Allow a good morning, and nothing for you to carry.
Once the two big ones are done, the car stays where it is. There's the zip line for those who fear nothing, mini-golf planted among the trees, a trampoline — and the chairlift, which carries walkers as well: enough to take a grandmother up for the view while the others keep riding. The resort sells passes that bundle several activities; opening dates, hours and prices are theirs to publish, so check with them.
And then there is the advantage you only measure on day two: 3 km. You can drop back to the house in between. You can put the youngest down for a proper nap in a proper bed and head back up at three. Above all, you can end the day when the day is over — not when the timetable says so. The house sits at 1,300 m on the Valdeblore plateau, between the Vésubie and Tinée valleys, at the gateway to the Mercantour: short walks start at the door, and the same resort turns white when winter comes. Enough to fill a week without ever driving more than three kilometres.
Key facts
Your base camp
As for sleeping arrangements, there’s a triple room with a private bathroom, plus rooms that can be combined for larger groups. Just drop us a line regarding extra beds or creative setups—we’ll see what’s possible. In the evening, everyone shares the same meal at the large communal table: hearty, family-style cooking designed to satisfy kids who’ve been running around since 10 a.m.
We take care of the logistics, too: breakfast scheduled around your plans, picnic baskets ordered in advance if you’re heading out for lunch, and a common room with a wood-burning stove for winding down the evening—when everyone’s legs are tired but no one’s quite ready to head up to bed.

The resort is 3 km away, five minutes by car: nothing forces you to last until evening. Drop back down for a nap, head up again if you feel like it. Tell us the night before and we'll work around it.
